Course Objective

The aim of the course is to learn the philosophers who provided the emergence of the modern strategy concept in historical order until today. In the context of the factors that shape war, the connection between the political objective and the concept of strategy will be evaluated. The dialectical relationship between the concepts of strategy and war and the indispensability of the phenomenon of war will be analyzed.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Understanding the connection between the political objective and the factors that drive war. Comprehending the dialectical relationship between the concept of "strategy" and the concept of "war".
2   Learning the factors that drive war and understand the link between it and political objectives.
3   Understanding the development of modern warfare in historical dimension.
4   Understanding the solutions of disputes based on the indispensability of the phenomenon of "war" and the different approaches of thinkers who have shaped the phenomenon of "war" in history.
5   Understanding the differences that nuclear weapons bring to the understanding of "war".
