Course Objective

To give information about the masnavis of Classical Turkish Literature between the 16th century and the 19th century, to use the information given and to gain critical power.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   to recognize and comprehend the works of the masnavi representatives of the 16th, 17th, 18th and 19th century Anatolian masnavi literature.
2   To be able to use the information which are given in the sources that are about poets life and works, to be able to read poetical and prose works which are written in Ottoman Turkish at the level of bachelor degree.
3   To be able to read and understand masnavis written in the 18th and 19th centuries, to reveal national and cultural values, and to learn general information on this subject.
