Course Objective

A course designed to develop mathematical skills considered important for business students and prepare them business for calculus.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   The fundamental purpose of the course is to give students a strong sense of the practical and conceptual applications of calculus as a tool for solving problems encountered in the business world.
2   Find a company `s cost, revenue, or profit function
3   Find higher-order derivatives and interpret for cost, revenue, and profit functions.
4   Compute the elasticity of demand to determine if prices should be raised or lowered.
5   Find the cost, revenue, and profit functions, given the marginal revenue, cost, and profit.
6   Calculate definite integrals to find revenue, cost, profit, sales, and population.
7   Solve related rates problems and differentiate implicitly
