Course Objective

Leadership is defined as "a process of influencing others to achieve a goal." The purpose of this course is for students to acquire knowledge about leadership so they can lead and follow more effectively and ethically. It will also help students continue the journey of self-discovery, a journey that lasts a lifetime if they choose to lead. Students may not be a leader after concluding this course, but they certainly will have a better understanding of the qualities of leadership.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   A framework for the application of personal, interpersonal, team and organizational leadership skills grounded in management science.
2   The knowledge and skills related to power and influence, ethics, values, diversity, multiculturalism.
3   Distinguish the difference between leadership and management and use that knowledge to make strategic business decisions
4   The development of skills and to enhance their ability to motivate, communicate,change and support healthy functioning in groups, teams, organizations and social area.
5   An assessment of their strength based leadership skills and the development of a plan to enhance their leadership skill.
