Course Objective

The aim of the course is to provide students a deeper understanding of entrepreneurship, the requirements of starting a business, the needs for developing a business plan and the analysis of the current environment. The course enables studentsto develop their abilities and skills to create, start and operate a new business. It provides comprehensive coverage of critical business issues and real world examples. It focuses on entrepreneurship characteristics, feasibility analysis, legal aspects, documents, creating the business, decision planning and business functions.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Demonstrate understanding of setting up a business in a complex environment.
2   Demonstrate the ability to comprehend the opportunities and risks of starting a business.
3   Evaluate the ability to conceive the relationship among the departments such as production, accounting, finance, marketing and human resource management to run a business.
4   Develop and implement a business plan for the possible entrepreneurship.
5   Appraise an understanding of the need to set specific, measurable, applicable, reliable and time-bounded objectives regarding the business plan.
6   Demonstrate understanding of how to make forecast and analyze environmental metrics in order to make the venture grow.
7   Develop oral/written communication skills; articulate and defend his/her position.
8   Develop and enhance the essential interpersonal skills to be an effective team member
