Course Objective

The purposes of the course, students are developing translational perspective. In this course; clinical follow-up from the laboratory to the bedside, based on the molecular characteristics chemotherapy, radiotherapy applications, immunotherapy, nutrition, palliative care issues will be discussed in the general information.Molecular-based clinical diagnosis, staging, medical treatment, research and development activities in cancer, from the field of applied physics to cancer treatment, tumour microenvironment, psycho-immuno-oncology will be explained.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Knowledgeable about the concept of translational medicine from the bench to the bed.
2   Be able to recognize and comprehend the general outline of modern oncology practice
3   Be able to recognize and comprehend the general outline of molecular based therapy in translational oncology
4   Be able to critically evaluate the published literature in the field of the translational oncology
5   Be able to critically evaluate the organospecific cancer research
6   Be able to understand the importance of a multi-disciplinary team work in translational oncology practice
