Course Objective

Microtechnology enables the production of low-cost platforms that are not possible with the use of traditional laboratory systems, thanks to the advantages of small sample volume, easy manipulation of chemical and biological substances, high sensitivity, and fast processing time. Analysis systems produced in this way are called 'Lab-on-a-chip' technology. With the advancements in life sciences and microfluidic technologies, 'Lab-on-a-chip' devices are extensively researched and even approved for use in the detection, prognosis, drug screening and treatment of diseases. 'Lab-on-a-chip' devices are emerging as promising platforms for applications in cancer research. This course will focus on the concepts and applications of 'Lab-on-a-chip' based approaches used for various applications in the biological and medical sciences.
