Course Objective

The purpose of this course is to achieve a necessary understanding of the characteristics and effect of the Ottoman modernization, the separation from the classical structure and the Westernization movement

3   The role of the intellectuals in the modernization after the period of reforms
4   The change in the Ottoman social structure
