Course Objective

To understand correctly the success of Islam s expansion to Arab peninsula in a 23-year period since 610; and to learn the causes and effects of Islam s expansion in the period of the Righteous Caliphs and Umayyad.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   acknowledges the Arabia, in which Islam emerged and developed.
2   comprehends the causes of Islam s expansion to the Arabia.
3   learns the causes of Islam s expansion to the lands under the sovereign of Sassanid Empire and to Central Asia.
4   learns the effects of Islam s expansion to the lands under the sovereign of Sassanid Empire and to Central Asia.
5   comprehends the dynamics of the History of Islamic expansion and learns the effects of Muslims in the Middle Age.
