Course Objective

The main focus of the course is the administration and interpretation of neuropsychological tests. In this course, neuropsychological tests used in assessment of attention, verbal and visual memory, orientation, visuo-spatial functions, praxis, language, verbal skills and executive functions will be examined. Students will be able to observe the administration of neuropsychological tests and also administer the tests themselves under supervision. Furthermore, this course will provide information about scoring and neuropsychological report writing.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Describe the associations between neuropsychological concepts, cognitive domains and assessment tools.
2   Define and apply neuropsychological tests assess verbal and visual memory.
3   Define and apply neuropsychological tests used to assess orientation and attention.
4   Define and apply neuropsychological tests used to assess executive functions.
5   Define and apply neuropsychological tests used to assess visuo-spatial functions.
6   Define and apply neuropsychological tests used to assess language and verbal skills.
7   Do praxis evaluation.
8   Do the scoring and report writing for neuropsychological tests used in assessment of these functions.

Assessment Criteria

Laboratory work will be carried out throughout the course. Course requires to prepare homework about current neuropsychology research. Also, a final exam including open-ended questions in the levels of informantion, comprehension, analysis, interpretation and synthesis will be conducted.
