Course Objective

This course aims to analyze prominent texts of Japanese modern literature through a theoretical perspective in the context of their interactions with native culture and with world literature.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To distinguish main aspects of Japanese literature
2   To use his/her knowledge regarding the distinctive qualities of Japanese culture.
3   To use his/her skills of close readings.
4   To employ literary theories in the context of Japanese literature and culture.
