Course Objective

To learn the basic concepts of the physiology of the respiratory system, to understand about gas exchange mechanisms.

1   To understand Respiratory mechanics, gas exchange in the lungs and tissue levels.
2   To explain Compliance, airway resistance, work of breathing and understand the factors affecting
3   Ventilation / perfusion relation and understand the factors affecting
4   To understand the neural and chemical control of respiration
5   To apply and interpret pulmonary function tests
