Course Objective

The course focuses on the sociological analysis of Türkiye's migration experience. In this context, concepts of migration, types of migration and theories of migration will be covered in the course. The main purpose of the course is to discuss the migration processes in Türkiye in the context of the mentioned migration types and theories.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To be able to use the relationship between migration, society and social structure.
2   To explain the phenomenon of migration in Türkiye in terms of migration concepts and types.
3   To be able to analyze the relationship between Türkiye's social structure, institutions and migration.
4   To be able to discuss the basic sociological problems in the work of migration researchers in Türkiye.
5   To be able to analyze current problems related to migration in Türkiye through a group field research assignment.
