Course Objective

The course focuses on the sociological analysis of Türkiye's social structure. In this context, primarily society, social structure and elements of social structure are emphasized. Afterwards the main purpose of the course is to analyze the Ottoman social structure and Türkiye's social structure and the changes that occur in this structure, through the elements of the social structure.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To be able to to establish a relationship between the concepts of society, social structure and social change.
2   To explain the elements of social structure.
3   To be able to analyze the social structure and changes in certain historical periods of Türkiye by using the elements of the social structure.
4   Ability to evaluate the social, economic, political and cultural foundations of Türkiye's social structure.
5   To be able to analyze the elements of the social structure in Türkiye and how the changes in these elements occur in the context of an article or book chapter to be examined.
