Course Objective

The aim is to improve conservation methods, detect corruption of material, protect in-situ and present at the museum of Hellenistic and Roman Mosaics in Anatolia.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   define principles and laws for protection of archaeological buildings with the learning of national and international agencies working on this issue,
2   explain theoretical knowledge about properties of building materials and deterioration process of mosaics
3   analyze the terminology of conservation for review on current practices,
4   evaluate the problems based on their position, types or structure of materials,
5   conduct an advanced work independently and the skills critically about record, research and protect of ancient mosaics

2. LO 4-5 will be evaluated with the workshop report.
