Course Objective

The objective of this course is to reveal the differences between culture and ideology and to make a critique of the concepts such as popular culture, mass culture, culture industry and etc.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Able to comprehend the complex theoretical system of philosophy of culture/cultural studies in detail,
2   Able to discuss the solutions that are proposed for the complex problems in cultural studies,
3   Able to grasp original problems in cultural studies,
4   Able to justify these problems by using philosophical arguments,
5   Able to analyze the historical background of the concept of ideology.
