Course Objective

The aim of this course is to make new designs and applications after examining the early samples of Asian and European textiles that have a significant position in the world s textile history.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   be informed of the art of textile,
2   define design features of Asian textiles,
3   define design features of European textiles,
4   make new designs by being inspired of these styles,
5   make up a collection and present it.

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

In this course, the students are asked to scan literature; in addition, they are expected to do design and application studies by making use of the samples in museums and resources. Application studies will be realized in workshops under the instructor s supervision.
