Course Objective

The aim of this course is to investigate crisis concept and strategies for crisis intervention. Events included in crisis framework; Characteristics of crisis and its psychological, physiological and social effects; Psychological crisis intervention techniques; Role of psychologists on crisis intervention; Ethical principles in crisis intervention will be included.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Be able to define crisis concept and general properties of crisis situations.
2   Be able to discuss about the biopsychosocial effects of crirsis
3   Be able to explain psychological interventions to be used for crisis situations
4   Be able to explain the roles of psychologists and other professionals working with crisis situations
5   Be able to explain about the ethical principles to be used during crisis intervention
6   Be able to discuss about the ethical principles to be used during crisis intervention
