Course Objective

The aim of this course is to examine the basic concepts of physiological psychology, brain regions and structures, the nervous system, and the relationships between physiological, cognitive and psychological processes.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Sudents will be able to define basic physiological psychology concepts
2   Students will be able to define the structures of the central and peripheral nervous system
3   Explain the cells of the nervous system, synaptic transmission and integration
4   Students will be able to explain the development of the human brain
5   Students will be able to explain the physiology and genetic properties of the nervous system
6   Students will e able to discuss the relationships among physiological, cognitive, and psychological processes
7   Students will be able to describe the neurobiological mechanisms associated with memory, learning, neuroplasticity, emotions and sleep
