Course Objective

The main objective of this course is to understand the effects of legal, administrative and bureaucratic structure on R&D by examining the relationship between public interventions, policies, taxation and R&D activities.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   to be able to understand the relationship between taxation and R&D activities in economic development process progress.
2   to be able to present R&D orientations comparatively in Türkiye and the world.
3   to be able to comprehend the importance of R&D incentives in developing competitiveness in the globalization process
4   to be able to make inferences regarding the current R&D institutional structure in Türkiye and the framework affecting this structure
5   to be able to analyze studies about public interventions towards R&D activities

5 Technologic Progress and the effect of technological progress on economic and fiscal structure
6 Review of the current R&D institutional structure in Türkiye
7 Tax Incentives towards R&D activities in Türkiye
8 Novelties introduced by the law no 5035 (Midterm exam will also be held this week after course hour).
9 The exceptions of income and corporate tax generated by production activities based on software and R&D
10 R&D Trends in Türkiye and the world
11 Developments in government support towards R&D systems in OECD and EU countries
12 Evaluation of the efforts towards R&D activities in Türkiye
13 The importance of R&D incentives in developing competitiveness in globalization process
14 New Dynamics of R&D expenditures and competitiveness
