Course Objective

Advance the knowledge and ability to perform routine and specific audiological tests.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Know to neuroanatomy and neurophysiology of mammalian hearing.
2   Know to human psychophysicsandcentral auditory processing system.
3   Be able to know the diversity of biology and genetics of hearing loss.
4   Understand and investigate how audiometric results can help provide differential diagnoses of common auditory disorders.
5   To be able to perform advance audiological tests.
6   An advanced understanding of the acoustic, anatomical, psychological, developmental and social aspects of normal and disordered hearing
7   Knowledge of therange of appropriate management steps for persons with hearing and balance disorders and the methods for determining the effectiveness of each.
8   Knowledge of the ototoxicity and vestibulotoxicity mechanisms, advanced evaluation methods, and interpretation criteria.
9   Knowledge how investigates auditory perception of normal-hearing and hearing-impaired listeners
