Course Objective

It is aimed to provide information about the detailed physical-based device operating principles of electrotherapy modalities included in the Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation undergraduate program and applications, to ensure the electrical and mechanical safety of the patient/physiotherapist in the field of use of these devices, and to introduce the relevant legal regulations regarding Medical Device applications.-

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   1. Learns the basic physics and electrical principles used in the working mechanics of medical devices in physiotherapy.
2   2. Learns the working principles of medical devices in physiotherapy
3   3. Learns about how to provide electrical and mechanical safety for patients and physiotherapists.
4   4. Learns the Methods Used in Medical Imaging
5   5. As an individual learns the duties and responsibilities and legal regulations in ensuring the quality determined by the directives in medical devices.
6   6. Gains knowledge about using the acquired knowledge and skills in professional life.

2 Electrical and mechanical safety for patients and physiotherapists
3 ELECTROMAGNETIC WAVES (STRUCTURE OF THE ATOM)
4 Principles of High Frequency Devices Used in Treatment
5 Working Principles of Ultrasound Device
6 Working Principles of Ultrasound Device
7 LASER (High Intensity Laser / Low-Level Laser Therapy) Used in Treatment
8 Methods Used in Medical Imaging
9 Methods Used in Medical Imaging
10 PHYSIOLOGICAL SIGNAL TRACKERS ; EKG, EMG, ENG, EEG etc.
11 Monitoring of hemodynamic responses; blood pressure measurements, blood flow measurements
