Course Objective

Main unit of the diamond and rotary drilling, to teach qualifications and duties of equipment, give practical training in the use of machinery and equipment, sorting a series of ground drilling team and teach the technical characteristics, sampling equipment and utilization, to teach types of drill core and core and practice, the objectives of drilling fluids circulating, to design of the design of drilling mud, to gain practical about finding the rheology of the drilling mud.

2   Able to determine the properties of drilling mud
3   Able to make and report field test of soil drilling
4   Able to sort progress parameters of Mining drilling and to use the machine efficiently
5   Able to make maintenance of drilling equipment
6   Able to take a sample by drilling, logging and crating
7   Able to plan equipping

1 Diamond and rotary drilling machine and base units and materials presentation
2 Rotary, soil and mining tool arrays, the key usage
3 Teach parts of the casing and coring and Rods
4 Mining drilling field trip
5 Soil mine drilling, segment, coring and drill types, Preparation of drilling of Rotary drilling machine
6 Presentation of a series of wire-line systems of soil-mine drilling, wireline coring settings, preparation mud and drilling in rotary drilling
7 Form drilling equipment, preparation for drilling operation
8 Midterm exam
9 Preparation of drilling mud, determination of characteristics of mud, water loss tests of mud, evaluation of result about practical
10 Soil core drilling progress, take samples and techniques that the samples maintain, start to drill in rotary drilling technique
11 maneuvering techniques, casing proceed, Rotary drilling sampling techniques, cases and logging, methylene blue test of mud, mud additives
12 maintenance of pumps and water title, SPT tests and evaluation, Maintenance of pumps and swivel rotary drilling, additives in drilling muds and mud cake thickness measurements
13 Soil and mine drilling applications, preparing different densities of mud,

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

This course will be covered in the classroom in the form of theoretical lectures and field application. A 75% portion of the course will take place in the field. At least three groups to be created and each group will practice at the beginning of the drilling machine and in the laboratuary
