Course Objective

In general, to teach 10 sub-branches of gemmology, in particular, to teach physico-chemical properties and to make common researches concerning these subjects.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Be able to describe gemology science and its sub-branches.
2   Be able to classify physico-chemical properties of gemstones.
3   Be able to research gemstones scientifically.
4   Be able to realize colour features of gemstones.
5   Be able to present report on gemstones by collecting data obtaining from scientific researches.

1 Explaining routine of the investigating gemstones, expressing gemstone terminology.
2 Instruction optic physical properties of minerals.

It will be evaluated theoretical mid exam, presentation of assignment and homework research, and final exam as well as 5 of course learning outcomes.

All students must attend to the conducted courses with 80% at least. During the courses and in exams, all kind of making a copy are evaluated comprising a discipline crime.
