Course Objective

The aim of this course is to introduce unit operations (fluid mechanics, heat transfer, separation and purification, etc.) used in chemical technology.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To be able to draw the flow chart of a production.
2   To be able to perform mass and material balances.
3   To be able to perform the basic calculations of a distillation column.
4   To be able to estimate the flow regime of fluid.
5   To be able to make basic heat transfer calculations.
6   To be able to relate the unit operations used in chemical technology.
