Course Objective

In this course, it is aimed to make students comprehend the responses of passive circuit elements such as resistance (R), coil (L) and capacitor (C) to alternating voltage, to gain knowledge and skills that will enable them to analyze direct current circuits theoretically and practically with complex numbers by using basic electrical-electronic principles and provable scientific propositions that will help to understand vocational courses, and to understand the importance of compensation.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To be able to draw phase diagrams.
2   To be able to use basic solution methods and theorems in the solution of alternating current circuits.
3   To be able to calculate the equivalent impedance value for serial, parallel and complex connected circuits.
4   To be able to determine resonance conditions for sequential and parallel alternating current circuits.
5   To be able to calculate power in alternating current circuits.

Assessment Criteria

Five learning outcomes will be measured by midterm exam, laboratory experiment report and final exam and the student's progress will be monitored.
