Course Objective

The course covers different techniques, materials and experimental applications by using design elements such as lines, dots, stains, textures while creating a surface design. With its basic design elements, it aims to design object/object stylization, surface planning and repetition methods, with an original and creative perspective by focusing on the pattern and color relationship.

Explore reference material and prepare sketching books regarding product designs
Participate in review sessions and classroom discussions
Attend to discussions of market suggestion, output method, design theme and color pallette

The course is to assess creativeness, discovery, innovative approach, consistency with inspiration and compatibility to finished product
Creation of discussion enviroment is based on student participation in it.

Assessment Criteria

Students are assessed and graded depending on;
Ability to create unique thoughts and transfer them to design
Efficient time consumption
Production of research and exploration based on assigned projects

Course Policies and Rules

.It is compulsory to maintain 70% of class attendance.
Any attempts for plagiarism result in disciplinary penalty.
Absence in the class is not a valid excuse for late submission of the projects and assignments.
In case of the late submissions, students lose point equal to one letter note for each day right after the dead-line.
