Course Objective

In this course; synthesis of artistic, design and technical experience which students of junior class had achieved from previous terms and formation of textile imprinting surface with respect to theme and performing imprinting practices by students are aimed

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   1 have information regarded with Textile imprinting design principals and design process.
2   2 have information about surface formation in design and will be able to apply
3   3 be able to research and analyse for imprinted fabric design for clothing.
4   4 be able to perform visual and written research regarded with design process and will be able to express these researches both orally and written way.
5   5 be able to have information regarded with sketch studies, surface arrangements and report types.
6   6 be able to transform design intı product by using imprinting and dyeing techniques.
7   7 to comprehend industrial textile design and production process.

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

Lecturer introduces Project to students both visually and written way. Lecturer requests from students to perform and present writtten and visual researches about material, techniques, target group and product property regarded with fabric surface formation.
Project; graphical, stylised and colour studies are performnace for selected plantal and geometric figures and translating them into unit pattern is requested from students. Surface research studies which are suitable with product and theme are performed by using formed units and composition formation methods. Formed surface arrangements are applied to fabric which is suitable with product and theme by using textile fabric imprinting and dyeing methods. Transforiming imprinted fabrics into entirely seamless or cloth forms which requires minimum seam is requested from students. Classroom discussions and presenting idea is siginificantly encouraged during this process.
