Course Objective

In this course, analyzing the double-layered and multi layered fabrics, informing about the weaving draft, dobby, reed plans, density and dimension calculations of the forenamed structures, analyzing the fabric samples in accordance with this information are aimed.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Know how to use double layered and multi layered complicated fabrics according to relation among the motive, pattern and surface of the design
2   Make explications of the double and multi layered structures in the report prepared individually in process of transition from design to production
3   Prepare relevant production reports. Correlate pattern, motive and surface in accordance with mass production
4   Analyze Double -multi layered and complicated structures.
5   Make a design individually depending on the knowledge acquired and prepare a production report

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

1. Courses
Instructor explains the information about double-multi layered structures at first via simple then complicated pattern samples. Students are asked to make designs individually or in a group and prepare technical reports and production reports by means of the given information.

2. Revising Sessions and Class Discussions
Every week in the first and last hours of the lecture, instructor organizes revising sessions in the process of transition from design to production. . Intracurricular studies and assignments are crucial for the problems solved in this environment. Students are promoted significantly to participate in class discussions and state opinions about the designs.

3. Applications
Students are informed about preparing a production report sample which is on what kind of strategy they need to use in the process of transition from design to production.

Further Notes About Assessment Methods

Student:
Prepares double-layered and complicated structures by using different weavings.
Charts the dobby plan, weaving draft, reed plan of the samples prepared.
Prepares potential pattern reports based on a design.
Attendance point of the student depends on (1) course attendance, (2) quality of the answer given to the instructor s questions during the lecture and in-class design study, (3) student s contribution in order to create a positive learning environment.
