Course Objective

This course aims to enable students to explore unique design languages through search and conceptualization and to transform their creative ideas into original and artistic clothing products.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   1. To be able to interpret innovative and creative ideas in line with basic design principles and basic design elements
2   2. Ability to develop concept, visual research and analysis,
3   3. To be able to come up with innovative, aesthetic and original ideas that will emphasize their own creative design identity.
4   4. Ability to develop and interpret ideas experimentally and offer suggestions for design solutions,
5   5. To be able to establish the relationship between color, pattern, texture, material, mold and form correctly in the process of transition from design to production,
6   6. To be able to transform his designs into original clothing products.

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

1. Recognizing the basic design principles and visual design principles of the instructional item, prompts users to reveal and present the objectives of the basic design using original design (report, impact and storyboard, presentation sheet, etc.)
2. Sketch and design completion review sessions by the instructor will continue to significantly encourage students to think and act on their problems.
3. Students in the transition process from design to production will be able to experience how to use the knowledge they have learned in Basic Pattern, Technical explanation, Computer Aided Fashion Design courses and other technical and educational courses with a sample application.

Assessment Criteria

In the course evaluation phase, first of all, the creativity in the designs, the innovative approach, the parallelism with the chosen starting point, the suitability of the selected materials and application technique in the transition from design to production, and the overlap of the resulting product with the design will be scored.

Course Policies and Rules

1. It is compulsory to attend 80% of the course.
2. Any attempt to plagiarize and result in actual disciplinary action.
3. Not attending the course will not be considered as a valid excuse for late submission of homework and projects.
