Course Objective

To understand the molecular basis of cell behavior, genetic diseases and cancer at the molecular level, and their use in stem cells, immunology, genomics, bioinformatics, proteomics and medicine.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Explains cytoskeleton, cell-cell, cell-environment interactions and their relationship with diseases.
2   Knows the basic concepts of signal transduction-control and cell life cycle and death.
3   Describes the molecular basis of cancer and immunology.
4   Gains knowledge of molecular genetic concepts and gene discovery in diseases.
5   Learn about stem cells, human genome projects and their contributions to medicine.
6   Have general knowledge about bioinformatics databases and their usage.
7   To have general knowledge about genomics, proteomics and their applications.
8   Gains knowledge of accessing and discussing articles related to course topics.
