Course Objective

The aim is to inform the students on felting process. Also, some artistic works will be made with felting techniques.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   be able to describe felt and felting techniques,
2   be able to apply felting techiques ,
3   be able to determine desing problems related to their projects,
4   be able to create original designs in their chosen area of work,
5   be able to see the finished product version of their designs.

Study sources will differ according to the example that students prefer to work on. For this reason, students will first carry out a bibliographic research.

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

After scanning books and articles related to chosen subject and researching visual materials, original designs will be create and apply with felting techniques.

Further Notes About Assessment Methods

The students studies are evaluated as a project and they will perform these studies before a jury. Their presentation performance and studies will be evaluated separately.

Assessment Criteria

The project and the presentation will be evaluated out of 100 separately. The 70 % of the grade given to the project and the 30 % of the presentation will determine the pass grade.

Course Policies and Rules

The compulsory attendance is 80%.
Before the end of the term, in the last 15 days, students will be able to learn their attendance. Students having absenteeism over 80% won t be accepted to the final exam.
At the end of each course, the next lesson s subject is given to the students as study and research subject. So, students come to the next lesson ready.
Students who are on sick leave will be considered absent.
