Course Objective

This course aims to enrich the creativity of the students and to experience the process of developing innovative products in order to obtain different textiles surface suitable for rugs by using traditional or alternative materials and techniques used in textiles.

1   To know rug types
2   To have general knowledge about production techniques used for rugs
3   Ability to sellect materials that can be used for rugs
4   Abilty to decide the appropriate production technique for the material
5   Ability to produce an aesthetic rug with appropriate materials and techniques

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

The theoretical part of the course is explained by the lecturer according to the lecture notes he has compiled. Students work on materials, techniques and designs that they think are appropriate according to this theoretical knowledge, both in and out of class. These studies are evaluated collectively in the course.

Further Notes About Assessment Methods

The evaluation of the course is calculated according to the 60% project grade, 40% work (the effort given to the project and in-class performance).

Assessment Criteria

The attendance of the lecturer to the lecture is evaluated as 40% according to the opinion of the lecturer in and out of the course. And The success of the project is evaluated as 60%.
