Course Objective

The aim of the course is to create new designs, setting out from the motifs and compositions of Ottoman fabrics and to apply those designs on fabric, using batik printing, direct painting and block printing techniques

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Students will be able to explain basic concepts, regarding printing techniques,
2   Students will be able toapply techniques for silk screen printing.
3   Students will be able to dye fabrics, using batik techniques.
4   Students will be able to use block printing and fabric dying techniques.
5   They are expected to undertake projects for house textiles, pano fabrics and fabrics by using all the available printing techniques.

Further Notes About Assessment Methods

The course is mainly practical. But it is also theoretically supported. In the practical side, workshops are carried out. The students are expected to present their respective projects. At the end of each semester.

Assessment Criteria

Project work and the presentation performance will be evaluated seperately on 100 points basis.
