Course Objective

The aim of the course is to provide students with the necessary technical, theoretical and practical knowledge to enable them to Turkish Islamic Calligraphic Design on the computer.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Be informed about the manner of work of vector-based and pixel-based programs also 3D ( Three dimensional ) design programs.
2   be informed of the functions of a vector-based design program's tools and menus,
3   Able to draw a letter on a vector-based design program.
4   Able to create a lettering compositions on a vector-based design program.
5   Able to edit letterings on a vector-based design program.

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

The lecturer gives the basic theoretical and technical knowledge required for the realization of Turkish Islamic calligraphic designs on the computer and shows this information practically in the lessons. Students are expected to reinforce knowledge and improve their skills by repeating these practices in the lesson and by doing the homework.

In the evaluation, attention is paid to the correct use of definitions, explanations and terms in the course, to learn the practices made in the practice studies and to do homework.
