Course Objective

The aim of this course is to prepare a collection in accordance with textile printing design, modern design and production methods and within the project.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   know and apply the modern textile printing techniques, and know production relationships,
2   make written and visual researches concerning design process, and represent these researches both written and orally,
3   design products related to industrial textiles, decorative/artistic textile studies, and convert them into products,
4   correlate the colour, form and style with their designs and artistic studies in terms of creativity, aesthetic and modernity, topic integrity,
5   . learn the reason and practice of preparing a collection and do it.

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

The instructor gives the lesson by using his notes and visual presentations compiled from different resources.
The theme of the project will be researched both visually and written, and materials which will make up a source for the design will be chosen. Designs related to the product will be made after sketch stage, and some of them will be turned into products in the workshop. In the designing period, each student will be able to utter his opinion without any prejudice, which will help new ideas appear.
Applications
The instructor pays attention to experimental applications which give rise to creativity during production. Moreover, he tries to find solutions for the possible problems.

Further Notes About Assessment Methods

The evaluation consists of some criteria, such as creativity, detection, innovative approach, parallelism with the starting point, suitability of designs for the products, suitability of the materials and techniques used in production, suitability of the product for the design, and applicability for the mass production. Furthermore, homework and presentation will be evaluated.
