Course Objective

Painting and photography are taught to reflect on cinema and to be produced in a unique way by taking into account the basic composition rules. It is aimed to be able to teach additional items (such as sample color information) that enable the composition to be formed and to shoot with a correct framing and composition knowledge in the film.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Know how to plan, produce, write and direct the film (fiction / documentary) projects; having professional skills at the professional level and selecting and using video / television, film and audio technologies.
2   Be able to demonstrate the ability to complete creative film or video productions during the training period and to participate in original and individual production studies developed with aesthetic concepts such as story, composition, lighting and sound.
3   Be able to acquire the skill of writing a visual and auditory story first and then writing.Independent research on visual and written materials. A research question is to be able to decide what kind of information is needed for a problem or a topic, and to obtain, evaluate and use this information in order to produce profound information.
4   Be able to present their work as a research paper in a suitable written format.
5   Aesthetics of cinema art, having the necessary knowledge about history, especially being able to develop oneself in art, philosophy and history.
6   National / international standards have gained knowledge, skills and competencies that suit, World Cinema and Türkiye must ensure a comprehensive hardware may have on the cinema.
7   To be able to critically analyze the production of a film / media production (himself and his friends) by adding it to their own knowledge in aesthetic, historical and cultural context and to be able to pass this on in their own work (film management, image management, script writing and animation filmmaking)
8   Having specific knowledge about the production-distribution chain in the cinema and television sector
9   9To be able to master technical knowledge, to follow technological developments closely, to master the professional concepts, to be able to use the techniques that can contribute to the current cinema, to be able to master professional knowledge belonging to the main arts field and to be able to recognize the technical equipment used in the market, to follow the innovations, have knowledge about responsibilities.
10   In order to be successful in the art of cinema, which is a collective art, to be successful, to have the discipline of working, having the spirit of teamwork, being able to be harmonious in human relations, ability to manage a community, ability to empathize, ability to appease events that can cause tension, to have the ability to be objective.
11   To be able to have interaction and communication skills between arts and sciences to evaluate technical codes of other art fields (theater, music, painting, etc.).
12   Be able to know which boundaries and boundaries to work, have a working order and discipline, be resolute and accountable, and be able to differentiate in competitive environments.
13   To be able to be sensitive to the positions, processes and attitudes of race, religion, gender and political and social groups while producing information and entertainment with film productions and to have a general culture formation compatible with the level of education and social environment.
14   Being able to have a free thought structure that does not bow to anything, can question everything

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

Lessons
Instructor students give basic information on sample films and visuals in visual composition and atmosphere creation, and they want to build on this information, direct them to produce the project and implement them through examples.
In practice application practice and project assignment phase, practical skills to be encountered will be demonstrated by the instructor practically every week at the beginning and end of the course. will be encouraged to submit ideas and opinions on the preparations of their projects.
Applications
During the application and project process, students will be informed by a sample project about how to use the method in the production phase.

Assessment Criteria

1-Student, three scene for the course, two ready-made text, one of the text prepared by the learner
2-Sample will be prepared from a feature film to be shot.
3-The student will prepare a written and oral presentation on a given topic.
4) Points to be gained from student participation will depend on the contribution of the student to (1) participation in the classes, (2) the quality of the student's answers to the questions asked by the lecturer during the course, and (3) the creation of a positive learning environment.

Course Policies and Rules

Participation in the 1st round is 70%.
2. Not participating will not be considered a valid excuse for late deliveries of homeworks and projects.
3. There will be a decrease in points equivalent to a letter grade for each day delayed in project deliveries in the future
