Course Objective

It is aimed to make students understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to areas of most immediate relevance and communicate in simple and routine tasks requiring a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar and routine matters.
It is aimed to enhance the students speaking skills and most importantly is to improve their critical thinking skills and give the students the confidence to tackle any situation.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   At the end of this course the learner is expected to interact in a simply way
2   ask for or pass on personal details in written form.
3   follow speech which is very slow and carefully articulated, with long pauses for him/her to assimilate meaning.
4   understand very short, simple texts a single phrase at a time, picking up familiar names, words and basic phrases and rereading as required
5   communicate in simple and routine tasks requiring a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar and routine matters to do with work and free time

6 Ja-/Nein-Frage, Nullartikel, indefiniter Artikel, Negativartikel, Plural der Nomen, definiter Artikel, lokale Adverbien, prädikatives Adjektiv, Negation
7 Wohnungsanzeigen einen Zeitungsartikel verstehen Farben, Gewichte und Maßeinheiten

Assessment Criteria

1. The student will write simple isolated phrases and sentences. Longer texts contain expressions and show coherence problems which make the text very hard or impossible to understand.
2. The student will understand very short, simple texts a single phrase at a time, picking up familiar names, words and basic phrases and rereading as required.
3. The student will produce simple mainly isolated phrases about people and places.
