Course Objective

It is aimed that the students to learn human muscle, neural and skeleton systems biologically and to have the qualification of adaptation to mechatronic systems.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   able to understand the basics of biological signals.
2   able to understand muscle and skeleton systems.
3   able to understand nerve-muscle transmissions.
4   able to adapt the muscle ad skeleton systems to the mechatronic systems.
5   able to design support systems in sports, orthopedics and rehabilitation.

2 Basics of biological signals.
3 EMG and force sensors
4 Experimental techniques for human and animal motions including medical imaging and animations.
5 Mechanical specifications of muscles and ligaments.
6 Numerical Analysis of muscle-skeleton structures.
7 Mechatronic motion systems
8 Mid-term exam
9 Biomechatronics application fields
10 Applications in sports.
11 Applications in orthopedics.
12 Applications in rehabilitations.
13 Sensing the motion using sensors.
14 Actuating the motion with servo motors.
15 Artificial muscle applications.
