Course Objective

This lecture provides the student to be able to discuss musical concepts and terminology within various contexts by considering the relevant varibales and thus prepares the student for their future applications in oral and written forms.

3   Adapt the terminology gained to the musics other than western classical music
4   Differantiate a musical term from the relevant musical terms
5   Explain the terminology about western classical music

The lecture is given by defining the concepts and terms of music in various music culture in comparison to western classical music. These concepts and terms are considered within various perspectives.

Assessment Criteria

Exams:
It targerts to measure whether students have achieved the knowledge based competences defined in learning outcomes.
Assignment:
It is essential for success that the students understand the musical concepts and conveys them in writing. The students need to reach as many resources instead of just benefiting from one is expected.
Attendance in the course:
The score to be obtained from the student s attendance depend on a) attendance status of the course, b) the quality of the students answers to the questions asked by the instructor during the course, c) the quality of the technical, formal and oral narration in the presentation and (d) the contrubition of the student to the creation of the positive learning environment.
