Course Objective |
The course is aimed to introduce the structure, properties, the behaviour under different conditions and the application areas of metallic, ceramic and polymeric materials. The course covers atomic and solid structures of materials, imperfections in solids, strengthenning mechanisms in metals, structure property relationships in materials, the methods of material testing, failure and failure mechanisms, phase diagrams of alloys, phase transformation, thermal treatment and use of engineering materials. |
