Course Objective

Ability to do acceptance test, quality control, calibration and evaluation of image qualityand to define the clinical applications of imaging devices used for diagnostic purposes.Also to make a dose assessment of imaging devices and to know and apply the measures taken for radiation safety at work areas.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To define ,to make acceptance testing, calibration and quality control tests on conventional and digital radiography.
2   To define ,to make acceptance testing, calibration and quality control tests on Fluoroscopy and C-arm system.
3   To define ,to make acceptance testing, calibration and quality control tests on CT.
4   To provide radiation protection and radiation safety on these devices.
5   To evaulate the relation between image quality and dose on these devices.
6   To evaulate dark room ,to make daily quality control testes and evaulate the results.

1 Practice on CR and DR.
2 Acceptence tests and quality control tests on radiography devices.
3 Dark room tests Daily dark room and automatic processing machines tests.
4 Acceptence tests and quality control tests on DR.
5 Optimization tests about dose and image quality on DR/CR.
6 Practice on C-arm /floroskopy . Acceptence tests and quality control tests on C-arm systems.
7 MID-TERM EXAM
8 Parameters effects on image quality and dose on C-arm /floroskopy systems.( kV,mAs,HVL,KFS,BFS)
9 Optimization tests about dose and image quality on C-arm /floroskopy systems.
10 Practice on BT.
11 Quality control tests and evaluation the results on BT.
12 Image quality and effects on image quality on BT.
13 Parameters that effects dose on BT.
14 Optimization tests about dose and image quality on BT.
