Course Objective

In this course, it is aimed to enable the student to comprehend and use the nursing theories and models to be used in the field of Internal Medicine Nursing and assess the practice results.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Interpret models and theories related with internal medicine nursing.
2   Use the models and theories related with internal medicine nursing in the care of adult individual with acute or chronic disease.
3   Make judgements about the use of models and theories in the field of internal medicine nursing.
4   Make interdisciplinary interactions for the solution of problems related with the field of internal medicine nursing, when necessary.
5   Constitute new ideas specific to a group or culture by making inferences about models and theories that are learned or used in the field.
6   Solve complicated conditions that are encountered during practices by using the processes of strategical decision making.

Homeworks: Planning, practicing, assessing and reporting the patient care according to a theory/model.

Assessment Criteria

Student s; awareness of problems regarding the application field, skill of using the specialty knowledge, making decisions and sharing her/his views about cooperation with team members and recruitment of nursing practices are assessed.
