Course Objective

Examining the transformation of the democratic function of constitutionalism with populist interventions from the perspective of comparative constitutional law is to reveal the underlying causes and the consequences of this evolution.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Defining constitutionalism.
2   Explaining the evolutionary process of constitutionalism.
3   Explaining the relationship between constitutionalism and political power.
4   Explaining the effects of populist interventions in the constitution making process.
5   Explaining the difference between populist constitutionalism and democratic constitutionalism.
6   Explaining the democratic function of constitutions from a comparative law perspective.
