Course Objective

1. Effectively assess marketing opportunities by analyzing customers, competitors, and company (the 3 C's), and
2. Design effective marketing programs by selecting appropriate strategies for pricing, promotion, place, and product (the 4 P's)

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Identify and describe the various marketing management approaches available to the tourism and hospitality
2   Identify and analyse how these principles of marketing are applied and managed differently in tourism and with regards to tourists, their motivations and behaviours.
3   Formulate marketing plans for a tourism organisation or tourism destination.

Assessment Criteria

The attendance point should be calculated according to the student participation in the courses, the quality of the answers to the question asked by the lecturer during the courses and contribution of the student into creating a positive learning setting in the class. Students efforts in contributing to case studies is vital. Group members are responsible for equal contribution of each member to the group work. Case studies selected according to recent topics each year and based on class discussions will be graded by the lecturer. Each member of the group will be asked to evaluate contribution of self and other group members at the end of the term.

1. It is obligatory to attend at least 70% of the classes.
2. Violations of Plagiarism of any kind will result in disciplinary steps being taken.
3. Students are expected participate actively to class discussions and team-works.
4. Students are not allowed to use cellular phones and calculators during the course.
