Course Objective

The aim of the course `Participation of Foreigners in Public Life at Local Level in the European Union and Foreigners in Türkiye is to enable PhD students of public administration to develop strategies in creating a democratic urban life and to utilize foreign social capital in the country.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To know Foreigners situation in the field of EU.
2   Be cognizant of legal basis and main principles for foreigners in EC.
3   To learn perspective of foreigners in European countries and to present the sustainability of related EU and EC agreements.
4   Recognizing multiple effects of foreigners where accommodate countries and predicting strategies
5   Exermine the samples of foreigners socio cultural and economic interaction with local resident and improve strategies which is providing sustainability
6   Have knowledge of foreign residents administrative and political interaction in local, national and international levels.
7   Capable of evaluating Türkiye s situation and success assessment.

7 Political-Administrative Approaches to the Rights to Elect and to be Elected,
8 Foreigners in the European Union, Foreigners in Council of Europe
9 Profile of Foreigners in Türkiye and Status of Foreigners in Türkiye
10 Profiles of Foreigners in Administrative and Political Dimensions and their place in the legislation
11 Foreigners and their Statuses in terms of Disputable Issues with respect to Security and Nation State
12 Effects of Foreigners on Housing and Settlement Policies
13 Agendas of Political parties and governments about foreigners
14 General evaluation and reminder, reviewing the degree of achievement of the learning outcomes of the course by making a situation analysis of the period.
