Course Objective

Aims to understand the basic foreign policy issues. Foreign policy issues and the relationships between the internal political developments are examined.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Being able to reveal the basic principles of Turkish foreign policy 2   Being able to analyze the relationship between domestic and foreign policy 3   Being able to examine the effects of Turkish foreign policy on domestic politics. 4   Being able to examine the effects of Turkish domestic politics on foreign politics. 5   Being able to examine the effects of political governments on foreign policy.

Week Subject Description 1 The basic principles of Turkish foreign policy. 2 Turkish foreign policy in the period of the War of Independence. 3 Period of the League of Nations. 4 World War II Era. 5 The Democratic Party Period. 6 The historical process of Türkiye-European Union relations 7 Midterm 8 General Assessment 9 Trends in post-Cold War. 10 Relations with Turkic republics. 11 Relations with Greece in the context of the European Union. 12 Türkiye's Middle East policy after the Cold War. 13 General assessments about the topics and discussions. 14 General assessments about the topics and discussions.
