Course Objective

The purpose of this course is to achieve a necessary understanding of the social and economic history of Türkiye, modernization process, and the historical phases of this process.

2   2. The social and economic dissolution of the Ottomans in terms of modernization and capitalization
3   3. The social, economic, and cultural condition in the first years of the Republican Era
4   4. The politics of the Republic of Türkiye in industrialization and modernization, social and economic politics and their relationships to the West
5   5. The social and economical politics of the Ottoman Empire and the Republic of Türkiye
6   6. The landmarks in the social and economic politics of the Republican Era
7   7. The comparison of the social and economic history of Türkiye and European countries
