Course Objective

Ability to explain, the discovery of America and its effects on Europe, The effects of the Anglo-Saxon Culture on the establishment of the USA, the influence of religion in the founding of the USA, the impact of puritanism s on the formation of American identity, their settlements and differences in the North and South America, the causes of the American Civil War and the American Revolution.

Assessment Criteria

1. LO 1-2: This will be evaluated through the performance in the mid-term examinations.
2. LO 4: This will be evaluated through the performance in the year work report.
3. LO 3-5: This will be evaluated through the performance in the final examinations.

1. 80% attendance is obligatory. You cannot enter class more than 20 minutes late.
2. Non-attendance will not be considered as an acceptable excuse.
3. Participation to the term and final examinations will be considered in the
evaluation.
4. Students are expected to act in accordance with scientific rules in lessons and homework.
5. Course materials are uploaded to online.deu.edu.tr.
6. Students are expected to behave in accordance with their student identity in classes.
