Course Objective

The aim of this course is to learn and comprehend the history of the Turkish-Islamic states (Idyll Bulgarians, Tolunids, Karakhanids, Ghaznavids, Ayyubids, Mamluks, Khwarezmshahids, Golden Horde) that started with the transition of Turks to Islam.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To be able to analyze the process of Turks accepting Islam
2   To have knowledge about the first established Turkish Islamic states of the Tolunids, Ishshids, Idyll Bulgarians, Karakhanids
3   To have knowledge about Ghaznavids, Khwarezmshahs, Ayyubids, Mamluks, Golden Horde, Timurids
4   To understand the place and importance of the first Turkish-Islamic states in Turkish and world History
5   To be able to define the material cultural heritage and works of art of the first Turkish-Islamic states
